2020 Goose Island Bourbon County Stout release details- PLEASE READ!!!

On Friday, November 27th, we will get a bright spot amongst the dark sea of agony and woe that has been 2020: The annual release of Goose Island Bourbon County Stout and its variants!

This has been one of our favorite events to put on, and while we have had to adjust things to make this year’s release as smooth and painless as possible, we know it won’t have the same feel. With our Social House next door, and having lost our ability to pour draft beer, there will be no all-inclusive ticket this year. We expect next door to have some BCS draft at some point, but we will only be handling the bottles this year. The approach we will be taking with this year’s release, to comply with trying to keep everyone as safe as possible is “less is more.” This is how we will be doing so:

On Sunday, November 22nd at 8:00 p.m, tickets will go live on Eventbrite, and you can click the link at the bottom of the post to save. There is no cost to purchase a ticket. Rather, the ticket will secure you a spot for the release day. Each person will be allowed to secure one ticket. No one will be allowed to have their name on separate tickets. Anyone who does so will have their ticket(s) revoked. Please note that much like buying tickets for concerts through 3rd party websites, Dogwood cannot be responsible for any type of technical issue you encounter while attempting to secure a ticket.

Once all the tickets have been spoken for, we will assign a number to the email confirmations in the order in which they hit our inbox. Then, those numbers will be put into a randomizer, and that will determine who will get to select their choice of variants first, second and so on. If you do not secure a ticket, we will have a waiting list started for anyone who cancels a ticket.

Once the randomizer has been done, we will email participants their time slot to come and select their bottles. Expect to see emails late Monday and into Tuesday. We will begin assigning particpant’s time slots for 10:00 a.m, and every 7 minutes beyond that, until everyone has made it through. There will be no need to form a line to wait. You will know what time you are expected to come in and select your bottles.

Participants will be allowed in, in sets of 3, with the first 3 allowed to enter at 10:00 a.m. Due to the current St. Louis Couty restrictions, we ask that everyone does not attempt to come early or wait in store until their time has arrived. We must be able to accommodate other customers as well as ones entering to select their bottles. We ask that everyone has their I.D. and email confirmation ready that shows their alloted time slot for verification. No proxies will be allowed.

This year, we will have 190 tickets available, which will secure every ticket holder 3 bottles of the 2020 BCS and 3 bottles of THEIR choice from the following variants:

Kentucky Fog, Caramella, #4 Special, Anniversary Edition, Birthday Edition, 2019 Mon Cheri, 2019 Cafe De Olla, 2016 BCS, 2017 BCS, 2018 BCS and 2019 BCS. Particpants will only be able to select one kind of each variant. (no doubles) Any particpant is not obligated to select 3 variants, but can opt to switch one out for another 2020 BCS. However, a particpant will not be allowed to switch a 2020 BCS for an extra variant.

If you are not able to attend the release, please email us at info@dogwoodliquors.com and we will hold back your 3 bottles of 2020 BCS. We cannot hold back any variants. If you are running late, we will allow a 30 minute grace period from your alotted time for you to arrive and make your selection. (Ex. if you are slated for 10:35 a.m, you will have until 11:05 a.m.) If you have not arrived by then, you will lose that slot and must wait until then end. Due to the fast pace we intend to keep involving particpants getting bottles, we cannot offer curbside service for your selections, nor any type of over the phone or email payment will be allowed.

After all participants have been accounted for, and the release has been concluded, any remaining stock will become open to the public. We expect this to be after 8:00 p.m. While there will be limited on remaining stock, anyone who has particpated will be able to purchase additional items.

If you any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
